I completed my Phd in the UK at the University of Warwick in the summer of 2022, under the supervision of Dr. Marco Polin (currently at UIB-IMEDEA, Spain).
During my Phd research, working alongside Dr. Raphaël Jeanneret (currently at ENS Paris, France), I investigated the interaction between the algae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and microplastics in confined spaces. We approached the problem with several techniques: taking time-lapse data from microfluidic experiments to examine the real-world dynamics, characterising these experiments, producing numerical dynamics simulations, and using an analytical jump-diffusion model.
I moved from the UK to the US in early 2023 as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the University of California, Merced. I worked with Professor Shilpa Khatri and Professor Erica Rutter in the Department of Applied Mathematics. I was part of INSITE: The Institute for Symbiotic Interactions, Training and Education, an NSF centre funded through the Biological Integration Institutes program.
The research page details all of the work I have been doing during my time at INSITE.
